Abstract
A single-photon-sensitive intensified charge-coupled-device (ICCD) cam era has been used to simultaneously detect, over a broad area, degener ate and nondegenerate photon pairs generated by the quantum-optical pr ocess of spontaneous parametric down-conversion. We have developed a n ew method for determining the quantum fourth-order correlations in spa tially extended detection systems such as this one. Our technique reve als the expected phase-matching-induced spatial correlations in a 2-f Fourier-transform system. (C) 1998 Optical Society of America.
