A. Saleem et al., EFFECT OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS ON THE INCIDENCE OF ROOT AND COLLAR ROTDISEASE IN CHILIES, Pakistan journal of botany, 30(1), 1998, pp. 39-43
The effect of physical parameters like temperature, flooding duration
and soil type on the incidence of root and collar rot disease of chill
ies was examined. The disease incidence increased from 0-100% with ris
e in temperature from 15-30 degrees C producing maximum canker length
(4.5 cm) and girdling index (4 cm). Gradual increase of flooding perio
d from 0-48 hours enhanced the disease development from 25-100% with m
aximum Canker length (3.66 cm) and girdling index at 48 h flooding per
iod. Heavy soils showed 83.3% disease as compared to light medium soil
which respectively showed 50 and 66.7% of disease incidence.
