Ys. Lipatov et al., MODELING THE ADSORPTION FROM SOLUTIONS OF POLYMER BLENDS UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF PHASE-SEPARATION, Vysokomolekularnye soedinenia. Seria A, 40(4), 1998, pp. 604-609
Adsorption from single-phase solutions of polymer blends was studied f
or an initial solution modeling a ternary two-phase system separated b
y increase of concentration. The studies were performed for a model sy
stem polystyrene-poly(butyl methacrylate)-carbon tetrachloride-aerosil
at concentrations higher than the critical concentrations of coil ove
rlapping for each polymer. The phase diagram for the ternary system un
der study was obtained by the method of phase equilibria. It is shown
that adsorption from single-phase solutions before phase separation an
d from single-phase solutions modeling separated ternary two-phase sys
tem proceeds in a similar way. In single-phase solutions of polymer bl
ends modeling the upper and lower phases, adsorption proceeds simultan
eously from both phases, which results in a higher amount of adsorbed
poly(butyl methacrylate).
