The dynamics of mutual dissolution of components in the cellulose nitr
ate (CN)-glycerol triacetate system was studied for various degrees of
the CN etherification (nitrogen contents 11.2-13. wt %). The mutual d
iffusion coefficients as functions of the nitrogen content in CN show
a tendency to extremal variation in the regions of both dilute and con
centrated solutions. The effects of molecular mass characteristics and
the degree of crystallinity on the diffusion was studied for a system
with fixed nitrogen content (12.2 wt %). In concentrated CN solutions
, the diffusion coefficient shows a correlation with the degree of cry
stallinity, and in dilute solutions, with the weight-average molecular
mass of the polymer.
