Microstructure and spin-lattice relaxation times of polypentenylenes w
ith different amounts of cis-units were studied by C-13 NMR spectrosco
py. It was found that the mobility of carbon nuclei depends on their p
osition in the structural unit and the total amount of cis-units in th
e polymer chain. The mobility of alpha-methylene carbon atoms of polyp
entenylene is higher than that of the analogous groups of polybutadien
e. alpha-CH2 groups in cis-configuration show higher mobility than the
ir trans-analogs.
