Abstract
We report a case of acute respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in a pat ient treated with Atenolol (Tenormin) for two months. According to the different criteria which are generally used, the diagnosis of pulmona ry oedema induced by Atenolol was made. There were extra pulmonary cli nical signs (cutaneous and articular) which were associated with blood hypereosinophilia and were suggesting the mechanism of RDS was hypers ensitivity.
