Abstract
In studies of murine infection, the capsule thickness of Cryptococcus neoformans varied depending on the organ. The relative order of thickn ess was as follows: lung > brain > in vitro isolates. The differences in capsule thickness suggest that there are organ-related differences in the expression of genes responsible for capsule thickness.
