Abstract
This paper presents a complete and rigourous derivation of the well-kn own power flow equations, by introducing two types of Gaussian random parameters in the description of the studied structures: the first one deals with the spatial position, and the latter with the location of the boundaries. Investigations are carried out for the case of one-dim ensional systems (longitudinal vibrations in rods and transverse displ acements in beams). The Simplified Energy Method equations are found t o be the asymptotic form of the random relationships, when the frequen cy as well as the standard deviation are sufficiently high. Moreover, the input powers used in SEM models are restored by the stochastic for mulation. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
