Abstract
We present a simple idealized model of stochastically forced solar osc illations, and compare the distribution function of energy, averaged o ver 12-hour intervals, with that of low-degree solar modes. We find th at the simulated energy distribution is similar to the observations, e xcept at extremely high energy.
