A complete system of quasi-hydrodynamic equations is derived describin
g the interaction of plasma with intense radiation. With the aid of th
e system the spherically symmetric Eddington accretion onto a neutron
star is studied. The expressions describing the spatial distributions
of densities, temperatures, and fluxes of plasma and photon gas are fo
und. The total picture of flow, including all the numerical values obt
ained, depends on the only external parameter being the relative proxi
mity to the Eddington limit.
