Abstract
The molecular descriptor chi'/chi was recently introduced by Randic. T he explicit formula for calculation of the chi'/chi index is derived. The formula provides an easy method to calculate the chi'/chi index fo r any connected graph. The advantages of the formula over the algorith m proposed by Randic et al. are pointed out.
