SOUND RADIATION BY A FINITE GRATING CONSISTING OF OPEN RIGID CYLINDRICAL-SHELLS

A rigorous solution of the problem of sound radiation by a finite grat ing consisting of open rigid cylindrical shells is presented. By using a priori data on the field behavior in the vicinity of the shell ends , an efficient numerical algorithm for estimating the near and far fie lds generated by the grating is developed. A quantitative analysis is carried out, on the basis of which a number of specific features of th e fields generated by the gratings consisting of fluctuating or oscill ating shells is revealed.
