W. Shyy et al., STRUCTURED MOVING GRID AND GEOMETRIC CONSERVATION-LAWS FOR FLUID-FLOWCOMPUTATION, Numerical heat transfer. Part A, Applications, 34(4), 1998, pp. 369-397
Fluid flow analysis using structured moving boundary fitted grids is p
resented. This type of method can be applied to certain moving boundar
y problems. The Cartesian velocity components are made the primary var
iables, and grid motion and geometric conservation are handled in a na
tural way through the contravariant velocities and the Jacobian evalua
tions. A SIMPLE-based sequential solver along with a staggered grid is
employed. Furthermore, appropriate treatments of the discretized form
of the diffusion term on a nonorthogonal skewed grid are also discuss
ed. The moving grid approach is applied to simulate test problems invo
lving phase change.
