Abstract
Let U-n and B-n be the unit polydisc and the unit all in C-n, respecti vely. We prove that if f is in the Hardy space H-2(U-n), then f is in H-2n(B-n) and that the norm of the inclusion is equal to one. If f dep ends on one variable only, then the result reduces to an inequality of isoperimetric type due to Carleman (n = 2) and Burbea (n > 2). (C) 19 98 Academic Press.
