H. Arimoto et Y. Ohtsuka, ANGULAR SEPARATION AND SPECTRA OF 2 POINT SOURCES DETERMINED FROM MEASURED SPECTRAL COHERENCE, Pure and applied optics, 7(5), 1998, pp. 971-979
The theoretical foundation is described not only of bow to determine t
he angular separation of two point spectral sources, but also on how t
o recover each spectral profile from the measured complex degree of sp
ectral coherence. It is shown that the so-called space-frequency equiv
alence law is not always required. A simple simulation experiment is d
one by incorporating paired superluminescent diodes as the two point s
ources with different broadband spectra. The experimental results veri
fy the validity of the theoretical prediction.
