Bq. Chen et al., 2-DIMENSIONAL OPTICAL DIFFRACTION TOMOGRAPHY FOR OBJECTS EMBEDDED IN A RANDOM MEDIUM, Pure and applied optics, 7(5), 1998, pp. 1181-1199
Starting from two-dimensional optical diffraction tomography (ODT) for
an object embedded in a non-absorbing and non-scattering medium, we c
onsider the case in which the object is embedded in a randomly scatter
ing medium. We use the 'effective wavenumber' K in the random medium a
nd reasonable approximations to study both the forward problem and the
inverse problem (i.e. the reconstruction of the object) and present r
elevant computer simulation results. For practical measurements of tra
nsmitted fields we discuss the possibility of using the coherent detec
tion imaging (CDI) technique as a means of realizing ODT in a random m
edium.
