Rigorous Faddeev calculations for the hypertriton, based on modern bar
yon-baryon forces including Lambda-Sigma conversion, are described. Th
e mesonic and nonmesonic decay modes are evaluated taking the final-st
ate interaction among the three nucleons exactly into account. Total a
nd differential decay rates are provided. It is shown that the total r
ates for neutron- and proton-induced decays in the nonmesonic mode can
not be seperated experimentally, only fractions thereof.
