D. Xu et al., STUDY OF PROPERTIES AND STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF SOME NEW ORGANIC AND ORGANOMETALLIC NONLINEAR-OPTICAL CRYSTALS, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 26(8B), 1993, pp. 230-235
Certain organic crystals have attracted much attention owing to their
nonlinear optical coefficients, at least one to two orders of magnitud
e above those of inorganic nonlinear optical materials. However, none
of them has so far actually been applied in frequency conversion devic
es used with high-, medium- or low-power lasers. In this article we di
scuss the major factors affecting frequency conversion efficiency and
examine the characteristics of some frequently mentioned organic cryst
als. The properties and structure characterization of a new type of no
nlinear optical crystal are also reported and discussed.
