This paper reviewed recent studies on some aspects of the content stru
cture of the information media. The content of information media is no
t just a random grouping of words, but rather carefully constructed se
t of concepts put together by an author to express the author's idea.
Therefore as a essential nature of the information media, its content
involves structure. After types of structures and terms are defined, r
elations between structures and subject analysis, subject representati
ons with relationship among concepts, structural analysis of abstracts
and research papers, and information needs from structural point of v
iew are discussed. Needs for validated analysis of structures and cumu
lation of studies are emphasized.
