Abstract
Aerobic UVB photolysis of single stranded bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU)-con taining DNA oligonucleotides produces immediate and latent strand brea k products consistent with a specific BrdU base radical-mediated abstr action of the C1' hydrogen atom from the 5' neighbouring deoxyribose.
