This paper describes the way of producing a new kind of a ferromagneti
c composite with a high susceptibility to elastic deformations and a l
ow electric resistance. The composite consists of silicon steel partic
les dispersed in a silicone matrix filled with graphite. Elongation, s
ubstitute magnetic permeability and substitute resistivity of the comp
osite depend on stresses, temperature and current density. The obtaine
d results are discussed and compared. The result suggest that there ma
y be a practical application for this kind of composite. (C) 1998 Else
