Abstract
Buildup kinetics of radicals,and ions upon low-temperature (77 K) radi olysis followed by photobleaching of irradiated hydrogen cyanide was s tudied using EPR and UV spectroscopic techniques. The radiation yields (G(R) approximate to 8 and G(ion) approximate to 16 species/100 eV) a nd molar absorption coefficients (xi(R) = 2.4 x 10(2) l mol(-1) cm(-1) , xi(ion) = (2.5-5.0) x 10(2) l mol(-1) cm(-1)) of radicals and ions, respectively, were estimated.
