S. Roesler et al., THE SINGLE DIFFRACTIVE COMPONENT IN HADRON-HADRON COLLISIONS WITHIN THE 2-COMPONENT DUAL PARTON MODEL, Zeitschrift fur Physik. C, Particles and fields, 59(3), 1993, pp. 481-488
The single diffractive component in hadron-hadron interactions is stud
ied in the two-component Dual Parton Model. We distinguish high mass s
ingle diffraction represented by a triple-Pomeron exchange and low mas
s single diffraction described via a two channel eikonal method. The c
alculated single diffractive cross sections, and the distributions agr
ee quite well with data from collider and fixed target experiments. Th
e fit of the model parameters to cross section data gives a extrapolat
ion of the total, elastic, and single diffractive cross sections to su
percollider energies which depends on the parton structure functions u
sed for the minijet component.
