Abstract
The preparation of a variety of selenophosphaalkenes by addition of ph enylseleneyl halides to phosphaalkynes is described. The process is st ereoselective and largely regioselective. The stereoselectivity is exp lained by postulating the presence of a cyclic selenophosphirenylium c ation. The reaction of one of the prepared selenophosphaalkenes with ( BuLi)-Bu-t is discussed.
