Abstract
A nonlinear random differential equation describing the magnitude of v orticity is given for fine vortex tube in locally isotropic turbulence . From this vortex dynamics model, the asymptotic expressions of the p robability density function of the dissipation rate in locally isotrop ic turbulence are obtained. In particular, several physical mechanisms behind turbulence statistics are explored.
