Abstract
We propose an approximation approach for estimating the system perform ance of a manufacturing cell using a Rotation rule for production sequ encing. The method has two steps. We first decompose the system into s everal sub-systems, then we approximate the arrival rates at each sub- system. Computational results show that the method estimates the syste m throughput with high accuracy. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All ri ghts reserved.
