IMPLEMENTATION AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF A TMN SYSTEM FOR PUBLIC ATM NETWORKS

In this paper, we present an implementation of a TMN system by Electro nics and Telecommunication Research Institute (ETRI) for public ATM ne tworks deployed in Korea, and analyze its performance. We present a pe rformance analysis model which models the message flow between the man ager and the agents in our TMN system by an open queueing network. Usi ng analysis results, we determine the appropriate numbers of agents wh ich can be accommodated by one manager for several situations in our T MN system. These results are confirmed by measuring the system, and us ed in the design of the TMN system for public ATM networks in Korea. ( C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
