Abstract
The surface composition of synthetic samples of aluminum borides and b orocarbides prior to and after etching with argon ions was studied by Auger spectroscopy. The chemical resistance of powdered aluminum borid es and borocarbides was studied in liquid reagents and in air. The tem peratures of intensive powder compaction in hot pressing and the micro hardness of the resulting sintered samples were determined.
