E. Emery et al., UROKINASE THERAPY IN MASSIVE INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE - REPORT OF A CASE IN A PREGNANT WOMAN, WITH A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, La Semaine des hopitaux de Paris, 74(23-26), 1998, pp. 978-983
A 35-year-old pregnant woman was admitted through the emergency room f
or a deep coma due to spontaneous massive intraventricular hemorrhage.
High-dose urokinase was given intraventricularly for five days. The c
linical outcome was very favorable. Few similar cases have been report
ed in the literature. Intraventricular urokinase therapy may deserve c
onsideration in the treatment of intraventricular hemorrhage, a condit
ion for which no effective surgical treatment is available.
