Polyradiculoneuropathy is an uncommon complication of systemic lupus e
rythematosus (SLE). The classic treatment is corticosteroid therapy bu
t is not consistently effective. The case of a 24-year-old female SLE
patient who developed polyradiculoneuropathy five years after the onse
t of her: disease is reported. The neurologic symptoms failed to respo
nd to corticosteroid therapy but resolved after two courses of intrave
nous polyvalent immunoglobulins.
