Abstract
A new type of polymer electrolyte which contains rigid polymer rather than the flexible low T-g polymers used in conventional polymer electr olytes is described. The new type of polymer electrolyte exhibits high ambient temperature conductivity, 10(-4) S cm(-1). Many properties of this new type of polymer electrolyte are significantly different from those of conventional polymer electrolytes. For example, addition of salt usually softens these new polymer systems instead of stiffening t he polymers, as in conventional polymer electrolytes.
