The adsorption of thiophene on gamma-Al2O3, hydrated titanium dioxide,
palygorskite-montmorillonite clay, and Mo-containing catalysts prepar
ed with the use of the mentioned supports is studied by gas chromatogr
aphy. The heats and entropies of adsorption are determined. The depend
ence of the catalytic activity in thiophene hydrogenolysis on the conc
entration of Mo is studied. The data obtained indicate the substantial
effect of the nature of support on the structure of the active layer.
