Aa. Lamberov et Ag. Liakumovich, PORE STRUCTURE OF ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE PREPARED IN AN ELECTROLYZER CHAMBER UNDER VARIOUS CONDITIONS, Kinetics and catalysis, 39(4), 1998, pp. 571-576
Aluminum hydroxide of the pseudoboehmite morphology was formed upon th
e precipitation of sodium aluminate in the anode chamber of an electro
lyzer. The effect of electrolysis conditions, which are responsible fo
r the precipitation (pH and T), on the pore structure of the hydroxide
was examined. The reproducibility of discrete pore-size distribution
of mesopores was shown. The hydroxides were similar in properties to t
hose prepared by continuous single-flow reprecipitation; however, they
exhibited larger volumes of mesopores and specific surface areas.
