Na. Vasileva et Ra. Buyanov, CATALYTIC PYROLYSIS OF DICHLOROETHANE - CALCULATION OF THE CATALYSIS SPHERE, Kinetics and catalysis, 39(4), 1998, pp. 584-587
A method for the calculation of the size of catalysis sphere (that is,
the sphere around the catalyst granule containing more chlorine atoms
generated by the surface than on the thermal pyrolysis) is proposed.
An increase in the number of chlorine atoms capable of chain propagati
on comprises the contribution of the heterogeneous catalyst to the rad
ical chain nonbranched pyrolysis of dichloroethane. The sphere size is
shown to determine the optimal granule size of the catalyst used and
its location in the reactor.
