Vm. Kharin et al., RECUPERATIVE HEAT-EXCHANGE IN LARGE-VOLUME BATCH APPARATUSES, Theoretical foundations of chemical engineering, 32(5), 1998, pp. 449-455
The heat-exchange kinetics in large-volume batch apparatuses with the
cocurrent and countercurrent flows of heat carriers and coolants equip
ped and unequipped with a distributor of the fed mixture throughout th
e heat-exchange surface was considered. As an example, the cooling of
a brew wort was calculated. A countercurrent-flow distributor-equipped
apparatus was shown to have a higher cooling power and a higher exerg
etic efficiency.
