Abstract
Howardula neocosmis sp. n. (Tylenchida: Allantonematidae) is described as a parasite of Drosophila acutilabella Stalker (Diptera: Drosophili dae) from Florida, USA and D. suboccidentalis Spencer from British Col umbia, Canada. These two strains represent the first described Howardu la from North American drosophilids. Notes on the biology of the paras ite and a list to the species of Howardula Cobb are presented.
