Abstract
The concentration profiles of the components of a chromating solution were calculated on the basis of a mass transfer model, taking into acc ount the mobile chemical equilibria. The data on the composition model of the diffusion layer, together with the analysis of the solubility of certain Cr(III) and Zn(II) compounds, allowed determination of the composition of conversion coatings formed on the surface of Zn in the chromating solutions.
