A. Aguera et Ar. Fernandezalba, GC-MS AND LC-MS EVALUATION OF PESTICIDE DEGRADATION PRODUCTS GENERATED THROUGH ADVANCED OXIDATION PROCESSES - AN OVERVIEW, Analusis, 26(6), 1998, pp. 123-130
This article provides an overview of the application of GC-MS and LC-M
S techniques for carrying out pesticide degradation studies by means o
f advances oxidation processes (AOPs). The attention is focused on the
crucial role of these techniques in the evaluation of degradation pro
ducts (DPs) produced through the application of these oxidative treatm
ents. Advantages and limitations of the application of different GC-MS
and LC-MS approaches are outlined. Further, the DPs produced under di
fferent AOPs treatments of a large number of compounds belonging to th
e major pesticide families: triazines, organophosphorous and halogen c
ontaining compounds are presented.
