Abstract
This review presents the lat advances in the field of biosensors for p esticide detection. The main categories of reported sensors are presen ted according to the immobilized biological sensing element: immunosen sors, enzyme sensors and ''whole cell'' sensors. The potential of each type of sensor in environmental monitoring is discussed and the advan tages and drawbacks of the described devices are highlighted.
