Classification algorithms based on neural network techniques and class ical statistical methods are applied in order to study the circumstanc es in which the bulge stars can be differentiated from other stars bel onging to other Galactic components. The Galactic system is simulated as a mixture of four components, thin disc, thick disc, halo and bulge , according to certain stellar system models.
