Abstract
An original non-destructive method for the analysis of texture heterog eneity is proposed and tested. Textures of two different layers can be 'separated' by a numerical treatment of the total diffraction signal. The separation of the information coming from two layers is based on an original algorithm of texture analysis. The method has been tested using neutron and X-ray diffraction techniques on specially prepared m odel heterogeneous samples, containing two layers of the same material but with different textures. The results are promising and the method is now ready to be applied to samples with natural and unknown hetero geneities.
