Abstract
The hardness stress-strain response of cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine ( RDX) crystals gives emphasis to a rather narrow difference in plastici ty and cracking behaviour that, in the latter case, is reasoned to be significantly enhanced because of crack surface energy lowering by mel ting during combustion.
