P. Aaltonen et al., STUDY OF SNOEK-TYPE RELAXATION IN HYDROGENATED INCONEL-600, Philosophical magazine. A. Physics of condensed matter. Structure, defects and mechanical properties, 78(4), 1998, pp. 979-994
Anelastic behaviour was studied in hydrogenated Inconel 600 alloy. Two
complex peaks were detected in the temperature range 80-500 K. The lo
w-temperature peak (100-270 K) was recognized as a hydrogen-induced Sn
oek-like relaxation peak, while the high-temperature peak may be cause
d by some transient processes. The low-temperature peak is attributed
to the transition of hydrogen atoms between the energetically equivale
nt octahedral sites, which defines the fine structure of the peak. Non
-monotonic dependence of the peak height on the charging current densi
ty indicates the possible formation of hydride phases.
