Abstract
The Davey-Stewartson system is shown to appear when finite-rank constr aints are imposed over the right-derivatives of certain automorphisms solving the heat equation. Families of solutions encompassing Wronskia n and Zakharov-Shabat-Nakamura type solutions are found for the Davey- Stewartson system and the reduction to the Davey-Stewartson I is discu ssed.
