Abstract
Four linear acetogenins, donhepocin (1), 34-epi-donhepocin (1'), donhe xocin and donbutocin, have been isolated from the roots of Goniothalam us donnniensis. 1 and 1', isolated as an epimeric pair, contain a rare gamma-hydroxymethyl-gamma-lactone. Their structures have been establi shed on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
