Abstract
The new thymol derivatives, 10-acetoxy-9-chloro-8,9-dehydrothymol, 10- acetoxy-8,9-dehydrothymol, 10-isobutyryloxy-8,9-dehydrothymol and 9-ac etoxy-thymol, were isolated from flowerheads of Arnica sachalinensis a nd identified by their mass and NMR spectra. Furthermore, six new and five known thymol derivatives were identified as minor compounds mainl y by TLC and GC-mass spectrometric analysis. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
