Abstract
A new biostratigraphic study of the Upper Valanginian of the Angles hy postratotype recognises nine ammonite horizons. This zonation provides a higher degree of accuracy than previous versions and allows good co rrelations with other sections of the Vocontian trough (La Charce) and with sections of the Provencal platform. Correlation of the ''Grande Lumachelle'' and the ''Faisceau median'' is well established, based on the Peregrinus horizon.
