We consider the system of a magnetic point dipole placed in an infinit
e square hole through a superconductor. Using the method of images we
obtain the potential and the field distribution in the hollow. Using L
agrangian mechanics, we study the motion of the point dipole in the no
nrelativistic regime. Relevant applications of this problem are discus
sed.
