Abstract
An efficient and accurate wide band absorption coefficient cumulative distribution function is used to model the 2.0, 2.7, 4.3, 9.4, 10.4 an d 15.0 mu m bands of carbon dioxide. Band parameters for these bands a re determined, and a study of the accuracy of the formulation is perfo rmed over a wide range of pressures and temperatures. The model accura tely describes the absorption coefficient distributions compared to ex isting line-by-line and narrow band results. The simplified formulatio n of the absorption coefficient provides accurate values for the wide band absorption, generally with differences below 10% when compared to benchmark results.
