The lifetimes of N-2(C(3)Pi(u), upsilon' = 0) and N-2(+)(B(2)Sigma(u)(
+), upsilon' = 0) states and rates of their quenching by molecules of
N-2, O-2, H-2, CO and H2O have been determined by emission spectroscop
y. To excite the states involved a nanosecond pulse repetitive high-vo
